The new revelations feature a glimpse into the human life of a fan-favorite character prior to his death and condemnation to the underworld. A Significant Hint for Upcoming Installments The show's creator shared an inside detail about “It's a Deal” – it serves as a huge hint for the third season. She also offered further details into the process of designing the mortal forms of her infernal animated characters. Spoiler alert for the fourth episode of Hazbin Hotel, season 2. Visual: The Streaming Service In the episode, a look back reveals that popular personality Alastor, the Radio Demon was a serial killer in his mortal days. Being aware he was destined for Hell, he made contact with the realm beyond beforehand to obtain a powerful role in Hell. The charismatic leader, the charismatic leader the cannibal faction in Hell, promised Alastor he would become “the strongest Condemned Soul in Hell” in return for his soul. This raises an important query: How is Rosie sufficiently strong to elevate Alastor over all other Demonic Sinners? “The agreement between Rosie and Alastor is the first stepping stone in a much bigger story that encompasses so much, leading into the third season,” the showrunner states. “Clearly that is an excellent question: How is she that powerful? The solution might be various factors, but the revelation is in season 3. I am thrilled for fans to see it.” It is uncertain the duration the audience will have to wait for Hazbin Hotel’s next season. The studios have green-lit seasons 3 and 4, but the creator often notes that animation is a slow, lengthy process, and subsequent seasons are undated. Nevertheless, she states holding off on specific information is an important part of keeping season 2’s attention where it belongs. “The challenge of any agreement with demons, or stories that have mysteries, is giving people sufficient clues to be like, Something's up here, and then revealing that gradually, and letting that be satisfying,” she comments. “So I'm very excited.” Picture: Prime Video Mysteries Resolved in The Next Season The creator promises that the upcoming season will address the questions fans have been asking, like why the cannibal leader commanded Alastor to vanish for a seven-year period, which diminished his power in the infernal realm. “The entire seven-year span, and the deals these humans are making, and everything — it contributes to a bigger narrative,” she says. In the meantime, the origin story episode offers a further look into what the core cast of Sinner Demons appeared as as humans, following after seeing another character's historical mortal appearance in episode 2. She explains that significant consideration went into these character designs. “The human versions of the characters hold so much weight,” she says. “They vary from appearing quite distinct from their demon form to seeming very similar. With Pentious, the initial design we see, there was some internal discussion internally between going with something that symbolizes the personality, as opposed to going with something that's historically correct. We leaned toward making something that just seemed like it was him.” Image: The Service She says the biggest debate over Pentious’ human design was his lengthy locks: “We were like, ‘Nobody really had long hair of that style in that historical period.’ But at the same time, we believe the silhouette is extremely crucial, and we also just thought he looked good. We were like, ‘This just feels right.’ We kind of gave the excuse that he's a hermit, so he just allowed his hair to lengthen. So there's always a way. As we create the mortal forms of these personas […] it is a very enjoyable process to investigate and determine. I am looking forward for people to see more of what the human forms look like.” New episodes of Hazbin Hotel the second season are released on Wednesdays on the streaming service.
